On the solemnity of Saints Peter and Paul, on June 29th, the Second-year students in collaboration with Professor Arul Kumar organized Pope’s Day Seminar on the Declaration Fiducia Supplicans: On the Pastoral Meaning of Blessings, given by the Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith and signed by His Holiness late Pope Francis on 18th December 2023. Bro. Johnson and Bro. Herman summarized the Document and Fr. Merlin Ambrose Rengith, professor of Canon Law at St. Peter’s Seminary was the key speaker of the day. He summarized the two talks given by the students of theology and gave a wholistic picture of the document consisting of its history and the need of reading the document to address the signs of the times. Thereafter, he also clarified the queries raised by those gathered for the seminar. There were about 158 participants including those online viewers. It was indeed a timely discussion that brought clarification to a many confused minds on that document.
