The first Tamil Sangam of the academic year 2021-2022 was held on on 23rd November 2021 at 2. 30 p.m.
The theme for this session was Political Systems in democracy (மக்களாட்சியில் அரசியல் அமைப்புகள்)
The Chief guest was Mrs. G. V. Shopa, Advocate in Madras High Court. (Vice President of women’s lawyer’s association, Director of Madras Advocates co- operative society, Chennai.)
The session began with prayer service and lighting of the lamps. Br. Francis welcomed the gathering. Br. Sasi gave a presentation on the essential elements of democracy in our country. Br. Jerome continued by giving a detailed review of Church's view of democracy. The chief guest gave a special speech highlighting that the democracy is with us and it is not out of us.
After the chief guest’s speech there was a floor discussion by the staff and the students which concluded with the various possibilities to create a good democracy. Br. Sugan rendered the vote of thanks. Tamil Sangam ended at 4. 00 p.m. with the National anthem.
